A Spectacular Transformation

Homeowner Story

When the homeowners first shared their dream of revamping their living space with us, they didn’t just want change; they wanted a complete transformation.

Seamless Harmony from Front to Back

In 2005, a two-story addition had been built to expand the rear of their residence. This resulted in a disjointed flow that didn’t function. We broke down an original exterior wall, a feat that necessitated the addition of robust support beams to support the solid masonry walls of this 1924 home’s original second-story exterior walls. This opened the living area and added two new entry points, seamlessly connecting the kitchen, mudroom, and living room.

Double-Sided Fireplace

The original one-sided wood-burning fireplace felt like a relic of the past, so we transformed it into a modern two-sided gas fireplace. In the living room, it now stands as a symbol of grandeur and sophistication. In the dinette, we introduced a sleek, granite surround fireplace that exudes contemporary elegance.

The Powder Room Shuffle

A sitting room sat idly off the living room, no longer serving its purpose. We decided to relocate the powder room from the back of the house to the old sitting room. The result transformed the flow throughout the home, giving the owners not only a dedicated mudroom but also a bar area that complements their newfound kitchen.

Crafting the Perfect Mudroom

The only backyard entrance opened into a nondescript mudroom. The homeowners yearned for a dedicated space that separated the hustle and bustle of their kitchen and backyard from the tranquility of their home’s interior. We took on the challenge by creating a separate entryway between the kitchen and dinette, thus crafting a dedicated mudroom.

Creating a Dream Kitchen

The homeowners cherished their original floor plan’s ability to dine within the kitchen’s heart. However, the cramped U-shaped layout had its limitations. Our transformation opened up the layout, and ushered in a spacious island that beckons culinary creativity and conversation, seamlessly flowing into the dinette area.

Main-Floor Finishes

Throughout their grand transformation, the homeowners craved a contemporary touch, and we delivered in style. The entire main floor received a modern makeover. Elegant walnut cabinetry now graces their kitchen, extending seamlessly into a grand island bathed in natural light from wall-to-wall windows. A mesmerizing marble diamond-patterned powder room floor tile adds a dash of uniqueness, while the exquisite craftsmanship of the cabinetry details leaves a lasting impression.
