Capturing Sunlight

East Harriet, Minneapolis

Quartersawn has had the privilege of remodeling this classic colonial home twice. Our first remodel expanded and transformed the kitchen, stretching it out into the back yard to capture sunlight and create a connection to the outdoors. The kitchen features Sub-Zero Wolf appliances, a sun-lit reading area, and a cleverly hidden doggie door. Our second project transformed the lower level. Descending into the basement, the stairs feature a new turned newel post and railing that match the home’s existing woodwork. In the new family room, we lowered the floor and installed a large bank of double hung egress windows, a wet bar and built in cabinetry.
