Making space for a main level powder room

Creating space for a powder room and mudroom was a priority for this main level remodel. The challenge was creatively finding space in the existing layout to add these functional spaces.

By removing the small and awkward eat in space and turning the island 90 degrees, we reclaimed space to add this main level powder room—and a mudroom as well.

The homeowners also gained more storage space in the form of a cabinetry wall built to separate the new mudroom and powder room.

This 1960s Edina walkout has updated design throughout the main level, including two refinished fireplaces and new flooring. It will be featured on the Spring Remodelers Showcase Home Tour next weekend. Stop by to see this creative and cohesive design in person!
