Quartersawn Featured in MyVillager

On Saturday, October 8th, Quartersawn had the honor of showcasing a home on the Summit Hill House Tour. The home was originally built in 1905 by architect Louis F. Lockwood. Quartersawn remodeled the home for the current homeowners, a family of five, to restore and retain original architectural details while adding modern amenities such as the expansive gourmet kitchen, and steam shower.

The Reiers had lived in Summit Hill for several years and wanted to stay there, but needed a home that would accommodate their growing family.

“We were intent on finding a historic home for many reasons,” Reier said. “This neighborhood is filled with beautiful Victorians, Queen Annes and Georgian Revivals, and that stately aesthetic is part of what drew us to the area originally.”

“Working with Quartersawn has been unlike any other experience we’ve had with contractors,” Reier said. “The company made us confident in turning over some of the myriad little decisions needed to perform a major renovation. It’s refreshing to find such skilled craftspeople working together to produce a work of art.”
