Linden Hills Tudor Home Addition

Linden Hills Tudor

Linden Hills, Minneapolis

The owners of this 1928 Linden Hills Tudor home cherished the sense of community in the neighborhood. Charming as their home was and its location across the street from a large park, the home, especially the kitchen and back entrance lacked functionality and connection to the outdoors. Drawing from their extensive travels, they wanted to incorporate the unique cultures they had experienced and still honor the architecture of their home.

Quartersawn designed and constructed a one-story addition to the rear of the home that welcomes the outdoors in. Sliding doors beckon you from the new kitchen to an elegant European-inspired stone patio just outside the door. The addition created the necessary space to allow an expansive island, a well-appointed pantry, and a stylish bar area to equip the home. The inclusion of a sparkling water tap in the bar area, inspired by the homeowner's travels, adds a touch of luxury and functionality. Throughout the interior, the design pays homage to the existing character, with archway motifs echoed in the backsplash.
