2024 Fall Remodelers Showcase

Nestled just south of Lake Harriet, this 1925 Tuscan-style home had charm but lacked a functional kitchen for its owners, who love to cook and entertain. The original space felt cramped and outdated, making it difficult to host gatherings and prepare cherished Peruvian family recipes. To blend historic character with modern convenience, we reimagined the kitchen with a spacious eat-in island, a custom range hood, and elegant gothic-inspired archways. Rich textures and warm hues now create a welcoming space that seamlessly integrates with the homeโs classic charm, transforming it into the true heart of the homeโwhere family, friends, and great meals come together.

The owners of this 1928 Linden Hills Tudor home loved their charming neighborhood but found their kitchen and back entrance lacking functionality and connection to the outdoors. Inspired by their extensive travels, they wanted to incorporate global influences while respecting the homeโs original architecture. Quartersawn designed a seamless one-story addition that opens the kitchen to a European-inspired stone patio through elegant sliding doors. The expanded space now features a generous island, a well-appointed pantry, and a stylish bar area, complete with a sparkling water tapโa nod to the homeownersโ adventures. Thoughtful details, like archway motifs in the backsplash, ensure the new design harmonizes beautifully with the homeโs historic character.

This Highlands, Edina home underwent a stunning transformation, blending bright modern finishes with a more functional layout. Quartersawn reimagined the main level, rotating the kitchen island to create space for a mudroom and powder room without sacrificing functionality. White oak floors and millwork now unify the space, replacing the awkward transitions of the original 1960s rambler. Both main-level fireplaces were redesigned with distinct yet complementary materialsโone in stucco, the other in tile. Beyond the renovation, we collaborated with the homeowners to furnish the entire main level, creating a cohesive and beautifully modernized home.
